Health and Wellbeing Queensland (HWQld) is seeking an experienced Senior Public Health Nutritionist to coordinate the development, implementation, and evaluation of statewide health promotion initiatives that address food security and public health policy.

Using evidence-based and co-design approaches, you will drive innovative, systems-level solutions to improve nutrition and health equity across diverse communities.

This role involves collaborating with key stakeholders, managing complex projects, contributing to public health policies, and representing HWQld on state and regional committees.

Your opportunity

As the Senior Public Health Nutritionist you will be involved in:

  • Applying well developed public health nutrition knowledge, principles and practices to identify novel and evidence-based solutions within a complex environment.
  • Applying your professional knowledge to problem solve, using evidence-based and consultative approaches to inform balanced recommendations within a public policy setting.
  • Understanding and apply principles of co-design at a community level, while taking a systems approach to drive change.
  • Effectively manage projects by supporting the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of prevention strategies and initiatives.

Specific role requirements:

  • The successful applicant must hold a relevant degree or higher qualification in Health Promotion, Public Health, Human Nutrition Science, and/or Dietetics.
  • Additional qualifications relevant to Project Management and/or Indigenous Health and Wellbeing will be highly
