What you'll be doing
The key responsibilities of the role will include:
- Connect to consumers, carers and staff providing a positive example of recovery and as a source of information on their personal experience of managing their mental health.
- Support and mentor the AO3 Peer Workers.
- Utilising experience, skills and knowledge in consumer education, support and provide a responsive framework of psycho education that meets the needs of consumers.
What we're looking for
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Knowledge of recovery principles and strength-based approach in working with consumers who have mental health issues.
- Well-developed communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries.
- Skills in computer literacy.
- Ability to advocate for the consumer perspective to identify service improvement.
- Ability to plan, deliver and evaluate psycho education and groups to mental health service consumers.
- Ability to share lived experience of recovery to assist consumers and staff within the role.
Mandatory Requirements
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
- A personal lived experience of mental illness and recovery and ability to advocate for and support people experiencing mental illness.
