Your work will directly support consumers, contractors, and industry stakeholders while ensuring compliance with Queensland's building legislation and standards.

You'll use your hands‑on industry knowledge to investigate building matters and help uphold building standards across the state. This is a frontline role where your practical experience is valued and your judgement matters.

What You'll Bring

  • A current QBCC Builder's Licence or equivalent qualifications/experience in construction, engineering, certification, project management or architecture (mandatory).
  • Ability to obtain a Certificate IV in Government Investigations within 6 months of appointment (mandatory).
  • A current motor vehicle driver's licence and the ability to travel frequently and at short notice across Queensland (mandatory).
  • Strong knowledge of contemporary building standards, codes, legislation and industry practices, with the ability to assess and supervise building work.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and mediation skills combined with high‑level investigative, analytical and problem‑solving abilities, particularly in technical environments.

Why Join Us?

This is a unique opportunity to step away from the tools and the physical demands of work sites, while still using your trade knowledge every day in a new career path.

You'll be part of a respected organisation that plays a vital role in maintaining confidence and quality in Queensland's building sector.

You'll enjoy:

  • Meaningful, community‑focused work that supports Queensland homeowners and industry
  • Professional development and training while working with a supportive, experienced team
  • Opportunities to broaden your career in regulation, investigations and technical advisory work
