The purpose of this role is to apply scientific knowledge and technical expertise to perform a diverse range of complex and highly specialised diagnostic and therapeutic tests within the Analytical Chemistry Unit, supporting high-quality pathology services and patient outcomes.
What you'll do
In this role you will perform specialised analytical chemistry and chemical pathology testing, review and validate results alongside clinical information, investigate and resolve analytical and technical issues, prioritise urgent workloads and maintain service continuity, contribute to method development and service improvement initiatives, support quality assurance and accreditation activities, participate in training and education programs, update laboratory procedures and documentation, and assist with research and development projects within the Analytical Chemistry Unit.
About you
We are searching for someone who:
- Holds a Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent qualification
- Has knowledge of pathology testing and chemical pathology services
- Can apply scientific judgement to the interpretation and reporting of laboratory results
- Has strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills
- Works effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Has experience or an interest in advanced laboratory technologies and molecular genetics
