Make a meaningful difference every day by helping create a safe, respectful and supportive environment for consumers, visitors and staff within our Acute Mental Health Inpatient Units. As an Ambassador, you'll work alongside multidisciplinary teams to proactively engage with people, build positive relationships and support the prevention and de-escalation of occupational violence through a compassionate, person-centred approach.

Your new role:
As a Mental Health Ambassador, you'll play a vital role in fostering a safe and welcoming environment through proactive engagement, observation and collaborative support.
- Proactively engage with consumers, visitors and staff to build positive relationships and promote a culture of safety and respect.
- Support the prevention and de-escalation of challenging behaviours by working collaboratively with clinical teams and responding to incidents in a calm, professional manner.
- Conduct ward rounds, monitor the environment, identify escalating behaviours and communicate observations to support timely and appropriate interventions.
About you:
We're looking for a compassionate, resilient and confident individual who thrives in dynamic environments and is committed to supporting the wellbeing of others.
- Demonstrated experience or knowledge in occupational violence prevention, dynamic risk assessment and de-escalation techniques, ideally within healthcare, mental health or other high-risk environments.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and engage respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds.
- A collaborative team player who remains calm under pressure and can confidently identify and respond to emerging risks while working alongside multidisciplinary teams.
