Queensland is entering a transformational era. With the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games on the horizon and Destination 2045 setting the long-term vision for the visitor economy, we are seeking an exceptional leader to drive tourism investment and unlock opportunities across the state.
As Director, Investment Attraction, you will lead a strategic program focused on attracting domestic and international investment into tourism infrastructure, experiences and accommodation that will shape Queensland's future.
The Opportunity
This is more than an investment attraction role. It is an opportunity to influence policy, facilitate major projects, cultivate global investor relationships and champion initiatives that deliver lasting economic and community benefits.
You will:
• Lead Queensland's tourism investment attraction and facilitation agenda.
• Identify and progress investment opportunities across accommodation, attractions, eco-tourism, cultural tourism and access infrastructure.
• Build strong partnerships with investors, developers, operators and government agencies.
• Support proponents to become investment-ready through strategic advice, business case development and project facilitation.
• Collaborate with Trade and Investment Queensland and key stakeholders to elevate Queensland's profile on the global stage.
• Develop compelling investment propositions, prospectuses and promotional campaigns.
• Represent the department across industry forums, investment missions and cross-government initiatives.
• Provide trusted advice to senior executives, the Minister and key decisionmakers.
About You
You are a commercially astute and highly influential leader who thrives in complex environments and delivers results through strong relationships.
You bring:
• Significant experience in investment attraction, property, infrastructure, economic development or a related field.
• Proven success engaging investors and facilitating complex investment projects.
• Strong strategic, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to influence across government, industry and executive stakeholder groups.
• Knowledge of tourism, infrastructure and economic development trends.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation and leadership capability.
