Your new opportunity
Queensland Treasury is seeking a skilled Principal Business Analyst to join the Queensland Government Insurance Fund (QGIF). QGIF operates as a selfinsurance scheme for government risks and plays a critical role in supporting Queensland Government agencies to manage insurance and risk effectively. As a senior member of the Systems and Business Analysis team, you will lead business process improvement initiatives, drive system enhancements and work with stakeholders to deliver innovative digital solutions that improve operational performance and customer outcomes.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced business analyst who enjoys solving complex problems, improving business processes and influencing organisational change through technology and innovation.
In this role, you will:
• Lead the delivery of projects and initiatives involving business process improvement, organisational change and technology solutions.
• Undertake complex analysis of business operations, identifying trends, issues and opportunities for improvement.
• Gather, analyse and document business requirements to support the development of effective digital solutions.
• Plan, scope and manage system development and enhancement activities across the systems development lifecycle.
• Coordinate and lead testing activities, ensuring functionality, reporting accuracy and data integrity are achieved.
• Work closely with stakeholders to identify and resolve issues affecting service delivery.
• Deliver user education, training and ongoing support to maximise the value of business systems.
• Develop recommendations for system design, business process re-engineering and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships and communicate complex information in a clear and professional manner.
• Work both independently and collaboratively to achieve high-quality outcomes.
What experience you will bring:
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
• Experience with business process transformation, business frameworks and process re-engineering.
• Strong skills in process mapping, business documentation and stakeholder engagement.
• Experience facilitating workshops and developing business models using specialised business analysis tools.
• Advanced analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience in information management within a government or similarly complex environment.
• Knowledge of, or experience in, knowledge management, change management and continuous improvement practices.
• Experience working with business process modelling tools, including MS Visio and BPMN 2.0, will be highly regarded. Whilst there are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, relevant qualifications will be highly regarded.
