About the role
Provide specialist fire safety advice and coordination services across Metro North Health as a Fire Safety Coordinator within the Fire Safety Advisory Unit. This role is responsible for supporting the effective delivery of the Metro North Health fire safety program, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, fire safety standards, and organisational policies across a complex healthcare environment.
You will work closely with stakeholders across multiple facilities to identify and manage fire safety risks, coordinate inspections and audits, investigate fire-related incidents, support emergency preparedness activities, and deliver fire and evacuation training programs. The role requires strong technical knowledge, communication skills, and the ability to develop practical solutions that enhance compliance, safety, and risk management outcomes.
About you

- Provide specialist advice on fire safety compliance, legislation, risk management, and emergency preparedness
- Conduct fire safety inspections, audits, investigations, and risk assessments across healthcare facilities
- Coordinate fire safety activities, training programs, evacuation exercises, and stakeholder engagement initiatives
- Analyse data, prepare reports, and develop practical solutions to improve fire safety performance and compliance outcomes
- Build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders while promoting a strong culture of safety and continuous improvement
