About the role
Permanent full time opportunity to deliver advanced level clinical scientific services within the Respiratory and Sleep Sciences Unit of the Thoracic Medicine Department, Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital (RBWH), as a member of a multidisciplinary team to stakeholders/customers of Metro North Hospital and Health Service (MNHHS), and provide leadership (including education and research focus) and supervision for the multi-disciplinary team delivering respiratory and sleep medicine scientific services.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Independent application of advanced specialist clinical expertise, decision making and complex problem solving in the provision of scientific and clinical services as part of a multidisciplinary team, facilitating novel solutions when required, including in the management of patients with complex ventilatory requirements.
- Provide advanced level clinical leadership within the multidisciplinary team and be recognised as a reference point for other clinicians at a service level.
- Accountable for the co-ordination of patient, staff and student education activities and resources. Deliver and evaluate specialised education and training programs at a service and facility level and at partner or outreach facilities and services.
- Provide high level clinical advice within areas of expertise to professional and operation teams, relevant service managers and other stakeholders in relation to the development of clinical services and professional standards within the service and at other facilities.
