We're excited to welcome a Clinical Nurse Consultant position to our Gympie Hospital Emergency Department. The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) is required to work at an advanced practice level utilising a high degree of knowledge, clinical skills and experience to promote optimal outcomes for patients presenting to the Gympie Hospital Emergency Department.
The CNC works collaboratively with the other members of the senior nursing and multidisciplinary team to drive innovation, manage resources, and meet department and hospital key performance indicators. The CNC represents the department in forums and external committees as required at a health service and state-wide level. Together with the multidisciplinary team the CNC helps to ensure the optimal care and safety of all ED patients and staff. Advanced ED skills and experience is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Coordinates, develops, implements, translates and evaluates emergency department clinical practice standards, guidelines, procedures and protocols using evidence-based practice approach.
- Is accountable for departmental outcomes regarding models of care, patient care indicators in alignment with the NSQHS standards and departmental reporting performance indicators.
- Provides leadership and acts as a clinical resource, advisor, mentor, role model and technical expert to members of a multi-disciplinary team, with an emphasis on emergency nursing care.
- Engages in quality initiatives and change manage processes.
Remuneration value up to $173 368 p.a., comprising salary between $139 951 - $151 949 p.a. (f/t), or salary rates: $70.58- $76.63 p.h. (p/t), employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade 7) (Permanent Full-time and/ or Part-time). Applications will remain current for 12 months.
