What your day could look like

As a Senior Social Worker, you'll help patients and families navigate complex healthcare experiences while supporting better outcomes across the health service. Working alongside multidisciplinary teams, you'll use your expertise to influence care, strengthen services and make a meaningful difference every day.

Every day, you'll contribute by:

  • Providing advanced social work support that helps patients and families achieve the best possible outcomes.
  • Working collaboratively with healthcare teams and community partners to deliver coordinated, person-centred care.
  • Leading quality improvement activities that enhance service delivery and patient experience.
  • Coaching and supporting colleagues while promoting learning, innovation and evidence-informed practice.

Let's Talk About You

You're a compassionate and capable social worker who thrives in complex environments. You build trust quickly, communicate with confidence and bring a calm, thoughtful approach to challenges. Whether you're supporting patients through significant life events, mentoring colleagues or improving how services are delivered, you take pride in creating positive outcomes that matter. You act with integrity, respect the dignity of others, embrace innovation and have the courage to lead positive change.

Here's what will help you thrive in this role:

  • Recognised Social Work qualifications and eligibility for professional membership.
  • Experience managing complex caseloads within a hospital or healthcare setting.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • The ability to lead service improvements and support the development of others.

You'll stand out from the crowd if you have postgraduate qualifications relevant to social work and experience in service development, research or advanced practice.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is passionate about improving lives, strengthening communities and delivering care that reflects compassion, integrity, dignity, innovation and courage.

Help shape better patient outcomes while building a stronger, more connected health service.
