Your new role:
As the Nurse Unit Manager, you'll provide strategic and operational leadership to a busy Respiratory Unit, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, evidence-based care.
- Lead and coordinate the Respiratory Unit to deliver exceptional patient-centred care.
- Drive clinical excellence through quality improvement, governance and evidence-based practice.
- Manage workforce planning, budgets, rostering and operational performance.
- Foster a positive team culture through mentoring, education and professional development.
About you:
You're an experienced nursing leader with a passion for respiratory care and a proven ability to inspire teams, improve services and deliver outstanding patient outcomes.
- Demonstrated expertise in respiratory nursing and contemporary clinical practice.
- Strong operational management skills across workforce, finance and resource planning.
- Proven ability to lead change, quality improvement and clinical governance initiatives.
- Exceptional communication, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills.

About us:
PAH Respiratory Sleep and Mycobacterial Medicine (RSMM) Department provide a coordinated, holistic tertiary (level 6) inpatient and outpatient service for patients affected with respiratory illnesses utilising a multidisciplinary approach while maintaining a safe environment, thus resulting in optimal patient outcomes and a cost-efficient service.
The RSMM Department Nursing Services includes:
- Ward 2D
- Respiratory Acute Care Unit (RACU)
- Nurses in Sleep Disorders Centre (SDC)
- Acute Respiratory 2D Clinical Nurse Consultant
- Respiratory Outpatient Department
- Metro South Clinical Tuberculosis Service (MSCTBS) Clinical Nurse Consultant
- Lung Cancer/Lung Nodule Coordinator Clinical Nurse Consultants
- Chronic Respiratory Clinical Nurse Consultant
Ward 2D is a 28-bed unit that provides care to patients with chronic obstructive airway disease, interstitial lung disease, asthma, lung cancer, sleep disorders, respiratory failure, and care to small number of cardiology patients. 2D also includes four (4) Respiratory Acute Care Unit (RACU) beds, each of which have capacity for continual non-invasive monitoring including Blood Pressure and Oxygen saturations (not telemetry). The 2D NUM is also responsible for the nursing staff in Sleep Disorder Centre (SDC).
