The Office of the Commissioner for Body Corporate and Community Management (BCCM) provides a range of information and dispute services to those who live, invest or work in bodies corporate in Queensland.

The information and dispute resolution services support the self-management of community titles schemes under the Act. This is a dynamic and diverse sector, underpinning the construction, real estate and tourism sectors and comprising apartments, townhouses, villas, duplexes, holiday accommodation, hotels and commercial lots.

There has been substantial growth in the community tiles sector over the past five years with close to 60,000 community tittles schemes in Queensland and over 540,000 individual lots. The BCCM Office provides accessible dispute resolution services, with a focus on informal, self-resolution. In most cases, the dispute resolution service comprises mandatory, departmentally guided conciliation, followed by adjudication if required. Adjudication orders are both legally-enforceable and appealable.

It is the role of the PDRC to supervise, trains and support Dispute Resolution staff utilising a range of strategies to ensure procedural fairness and the appropriate exercise of the delegated powers of the Commissioner. You will manage business processes associated with the provision of evidentiary material and provide support to the adjudicators, referees, and conciliators throughout the life cycle of the application.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead with focus and confidence in an environment of complexity, while applying strategies to sustain working in confronting and often emotionally challenging circumstances.
  • Create and implement a work culture focused on continuous improvement through identifying and developing staff, processes and human centred learnings.
  • Provide timely and accurate information, particularly on more complex matters, to management and clients, while undertaking administrative evidence-based decision making in accordance with the BCCM and BUGT Acts.
  • Review and approve training and coordinate guidance to the team on internal systems, information database content and procedures following positive performance management protocols.
  • Monitor workflows ensuring applications are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Support management in dealing with HR matters including positive performance management principals.
  • Set and lead by example with self development and personal growth opportunities

Applications to remain current for 12 months.
