Your Opportunity

TAFE Queensland North (TQN) is seeking to establish a pre-qualified Educator Talent Pool to support delivery of the Certificate III in Marine Craft Construction in the Bowen region.

This initiative will introduce a continuous recruitment or periodic Expression of Interest (EOI) process to identify and maintain a pool of skilled educators who are ready to step into training delivery as needs arise.

Candidates within the talent pool will be pre-assessed against the following requirements:

  • Demonstrated vocational competency in Marine Craft Construction (MEM30719 or equivalent)
  • Current training and assessment qualifications (e.g. TAE40122 or equivelant)
  • Proven industry currency

Successful applicants will have the opportunity to contribute through:

  • Casual or temporary teaching engagements
  • Supporting backfill requirements
  • Assisting with surge delivery demands to meet fluctuating training needs

This approach supports TQN’s workforce planning priorities by proactively addressing regional skill shortages in the Bowen and Cannonvale areas. It aligns with broader workforce strategies focused on:

  • Addressing industry skill gaps
  • Strengthening regional workforce capability
  • Improving responsiveness to employer and industry needs
