The role
The Senior Director, Financial Accounting and System Operations, is accountable for leading the strategic direction, management, and delivery enhancement of high-quality accounting and system operations across the State. This role involves developing and delivering financial statements, ensuring efficient banking and payment services, and maintaining compliance with internal control standards. Additionally, the position oversees statewide revenue functions, provides financial and asset accounting advice, and ensures effective implementation of relevant standards. The successful applicant will lead diverse teams, manage and develop complex financial policies, and collaborate with stakeholders to enhance financial literacy across the system.
The successful person
We are looking for a highly capable and experienced executive who demonstrates:
- exceptional strategic and operational leadership capabilities, effectively guiding diverse teams and managing complex projects.
- exhibits superior verbal and written communication skills, ensuring clarity and fostering long-term cooperative relations.
- proven agility in supporting organisational objectives, actively promoting financial literacy, and communicating relevant fiscal and economic risks.
- proven ability to lead and manage change, particularly in the implementation of financial reform with a large complex environment.
About Corporate Services Division
The Corporate Services Division (CSD) provides a wide-range of enabling and business support services to the Department of Health. Focusing on delivering essential corporate services in partnership to enable a high performing Queensland health system, the CSD is responsible for major corporate functions including finance, human resources, legal, risk and assurance, governance, business enhancement, procurement and strategic communications.
