About the role
The Senior Procurement and Contracts Officer – Clinical Consumables is responsible for planning, developing and negotiating procurement activities across the clinical consumables category for Metro North Health. The role supports the delivery of procurement and contract management activities relating to clinical consumables, prostheses, pharmaceuticals, medical gases, and associated panel and standing offer arrangements, ensuring procurement outcomes are achieved in a transparent, compliant and customer-focused manner.
The successful candidate will manage complex procurement processes, lead contract negotiations, coordinate tender evaluations and provide expert advice to stakeholders on procurement governance, probity and contract management. Working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders, the role contributes to strategic procurement planning, value-for-money outcomes and continuous improvement across the procurement lifecycle.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Lead and support end-to-end procurement activities for clinical consumables and related categories, ensuring compliance with procurement frameworks, policies and legislation.
- Develop, negotiate and manage contracts that deliver value for money, mitigate risk and support Metro North Health's strategic objectives.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams to achieve successful procurement outcomes.
- Provide expert advice on procurement governance, probity, contract management and supplier performance to support informed decision-making.
- Analyse procurement data, identify business opportunities and contribute to strategic planning, service improvement and ongoing contract management initiatives.
