About the role

This team takes responsibility for the operational management and strategic planning of departmental core business including human resource management

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Provide high level management and leadership to the IMS Sub-Acute team and co-ordinate/manage projects in the relevant service area as needed across TPCH. The role enables team members to optimise their skills and abilities to deliver quality practice outcomes while complying with Metro North and state-wide strategic directions to ensure patient focused service delivery.
  • Provide a lead role for social work practice issues based on advanced clinical knowledge, skills, and current best practice models of care in the management and delivery of the specialist Social Work service to patients accessing services within the IMS Sub-Acute stream.
  • Act in an advisory capacity to the team, senior management, relevant internal and external agencies, key service committees and meetings, utilising expertise and experience by providing clinical advice, strategic planning, and initiate improvements in service quality.
  • Relevant to the position, participate in the ongoing education, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of safety and quality initiatives relevant to The National Safety and Quality Health Services Standards and the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS) Evaluation and Quality Improvement Program (EQuIP).
