About the role
The Coding Quality Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting and enhancing clinical coding quality across Metro North Health. The position is responsible for undertaking and coordinating coding quality assurance activities, including individual, departmental and targeted coding audits, to ensure a high standard of coding accuracy, consistency and timeliness within an Activity Based Funding environment.
The successful candidate will provide expert coding advice, deliver education and feedback to coding and clinical staff, and contribute to the expansion of coder-clinician liaison programs to improve clinical documentation quality. The role also supports quality improvement initiatives, coded data integrity, funding optimisation and strategic service improvements across Health Information Management Services.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Lead and undertake clinical coding audits, quality assurance activities and data validation processes to improve coding accuracy and integrity.
- Provide expert advice on clinical coding classifications, Diagnosis Related Groups (DRGs), Activity Based Funding and coded data quality.
- Develop and deliver education programs, audit feedback and training sessions for coding staff and clinicians to support continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with medical officers and stakeholders to improve clinical documentation and support accurate coding and funding outcomes.
- Contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives and strategic projects while acting as a key coding resource across the organisation.
