We are excited to offer a temporary 12-month opportunity as an experienced Scientist. This role will perform complex and diverse scientific and technical tasks and engage in independent decision making and judgement on a day-to-day basis with minimal clinical practise supervision in the analysis of patient specimens. The scientist will be a member of a team of Health Professionals and Clinical Assistants providing a 24 hour service in the Haematology and Transfusion departments at Gold Coast University Hospital. Key competencies (role specific criteria)

You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:

• Demonstrates a competent level of knowledge, expertise and skill in Haematology and Transfusion.
• Demonstrated ability to participate in a single-discipline or multidisciplinary team on a 24 hr / 7 day roster, oncall and contribute a range of diagnostic skills relevant to the discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to apply established principles to a Haematology and Transfusion service with provision of results and clinical advice in a client focused manner.
• Demonstrated ability (or ability to rapidly acquire the skill) to identify, develop and implement quality and service improvement activities in accordance with NATA/ISO accreditation / certification.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills, client focus and ability to communicate effectively.
• Well developed interpersonal skills and ability to work cooperatively as part of a team.
