The Contracts & Commercial Oversight team is part of Customer & Technology Branch, within Network Services & Operations (a Division of TMR). The Customer & Technology Branch is dedicated to designing, delivering, and promoting an exceptional public transport customer experience across Queensland.

The branch manages and oversees key technology initiatives, including the delivery of the Smart Ticketing project. The Contracts, Commercial & Oversight team plays a critical role in supporting these initiatives by managing complex contracts with suppliers, ensuring compliance, and driving value for money outcomes that enhance public transport services across Queensland.

In this role, you will manage contracts with NSO's ticketing and technology suppliers and contribute to the delivery of innovative transport solutions including the Smart Ticketing Project. The role will report directly to the Manager (Contracts).

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Manage contracts through their full lifecycle, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and proactive monitoring and management of suppliers' performance.
  • Preparation and administration of contractual documentation including contract variations, letters and other required materials.
  • Build, manage and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders; including working closely with suppliers to monitor and implement performance management frameworks.
  • Prepare clear and concise correspondence, briefs, presentations and reports to support decision-making and organisational priorities.
  • Attend, facilitate and provide secretariat support for meetings with stakeholders including supplier meetings, governance forums and project working groups.
  • Manage reporting and payment processes with suppliers, ensuring accurate analysis of claims, accurate recording of data and reporting.
  • Perform other accountabilities and tasks as reasonably directed.

Mandatory qualifications and conditions

  • Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
  • It is a condition of employment for recommended appointee/s to disclose any previous serious discipline action taken against them for consideration by the delegate prior to any appointment.

Requirements of the role

  • Demonstrated experience in contract management, with a minimum of two years' experience managing low to medium-value contracts; including following contract processes and completing contract administration tasks.
  • Experience building and maintaining effective relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Experience in analysing data and contracts and using that analysis to inform decisions.
  • Ability to monitor and manage performance of contractual obligations, identify risks and performance issues with suppliers.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to effectively manage competing priorities while operating with a high degree of autonomy.
