About the role

As an Occupational Therapist with the Community Based Rehabilitation Team (CBRT), you will play a key role in helping people recover, regain independence, and improve their quality-of-life following illness, injury, or a significant health event. Working across community and home-based settings, you will deliver person-centred, evidence-based occupational therapy services that enable clients to achieve meaningful goals and participate more fully in their daily lives. You will manage a diverse caseload, undertaking assessment, intervention, equipment prescription, home environment recommendations, and rehabilitation planning.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

• Deliver base level Occupational Therapy clinical services (which may include, examination, investigation, diagnosis, treatment and case management) within the multidisciplinary multi-site Community Based Rehabilitation Team, utilizing evidence-based practice in accordance with professional and ethical standards.
• Work cooperatively and effectively within the discipline of Occupational Therapy and the multidisciplinary team and with consumers and families/carers to provide value based and collaborate care.
• Communicate effectively with patients and their families, other health professional, supervisors, assistants, students and researchers across the hospital, home, community and other settings across the state, as relevant to your service area, in order to meet service goals and enhance health outcomes.
• Provide student education and clinical practice supervision for less experienced clinicians, commensurate with the level of experience, as well as direction to assistant, support staff and work experience students, under guidance of senior clinicians.
• Develop clinical practice knowledge and expertise through active learning within a team and by engaging in professional development activities and clinical supervision.
