Principal Adviser, Operational Governance and Risk

The purpose of this position is to contribute to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of a fit for purpose and robust operational assurance framework for the Community Corrections and Specialist Operations division.
The Principal Adviser, Operational Governance and Risk will be responsible for undertaking a range of assurance, governance and business intelligence activities across Community Corrections and Specialist Operations.

The most suitable applicant will demonstrate their applied knowledge, skills and experiences against these essential role requirements of the Individual Contributor leadership stream:
• Demonstrated high level experience in, and understanding of, contemporary business governance and risk management practices including the ability to interpret and apply legislation, policy and procedures;
• Experience in a criminal justice environment or similar human services/regulatory agency.
• Demonstrated strong analytical skills to guide and develop innovative strategies for managing risk and resolving issues;
• Proven capability to communicate with influence with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to enable the achievement of agency objectives and proven ability to manage ongoing productive working relationships with a range of stakeholders;
• Demonstrated ability to think and plan strategically to resolve issues, inform decision making and identify and implement business improvement initiatives;
• High level of skill in setting priorities, coordinating activities and meeting timeframes in an agile environment;
• Ability to navigate and utilise corporate data information systems and demonstrated experience in the preparation of performance reports.
• Demonstrated ability to act with high levels of integrity, and make ethical, evidence-based decisions, as well as an appreciation for diversity and equity in the workplace.
