As a Ranger (OO4), you will support the Ranger in Charge to coordinate and deliver park management programs across Oyala Thumotang and KULLA National Parks (CYPAL) in partnership with local Land Trust Rangers and Traditional Owners. The role includes fire, weed and pest management, visitor and compliance activities, natural and cultural resource management, infrastructure maintenance, project delivery, and emergency response operations. You'll also assist with team leadership, staff support, workplace health and safety, training, reporting and administrative tasks.
This hands-on role requires strong communication and teamwork skills, sound judgement, and the ability to work effectively in remote environments. You'll need to be adaptable, resilient and comfortable working in challenging outdoor conditions while maintaining positive relationships with First Nations partners, community stakeholders and visitors. Experience in land management, conservation, fire management, infrastructure maintenance or related fields will be highly regarded. A current unrestricted manual driver's licence is mandatory, and formal qualifications in land management are desirable but not essential. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about conservation, cultural partnerships and protecting Cape York's unique natural landscapes.
