Charters Towers Health Service are seeking a friendly Home Care Workers to join their supportive Home Care Services team.

This role performs Domestic Assistance (Cleaning) and Social Support (Accompanied Shopping, etc) within the clients’ home and community as directed by the Home Care Service Coordinator.

The location

Charters Towers Health Service is a 25-bed facility providing integrated acute and primary health care services through a range of programs including: community, child, youth and family, mental health, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and outreach services.

Charters Towers is one of the most beautiful inland cities in Queensland, with its unrivalled architecture and unique history. Discover this enchanting outback town which is just an hour and a half west of Townsville. 


About the opportunity   

The purpose of this position is to provide basic domestic cleaning and support services to the frail aged of the community and their carers.

Requirements:

  • Aged Care Pre-Employment Screening: Applicants are advised this position works in an identified Aged Care Facility as per the Aged Care Act 1997 and therefore requires employees and volunteers to have a current National Police Certificate. Queensland Health will facilitate applicants obtaining the above National Police Certificate. 
  • Driver Licence: This position requires the applicant to possess an appropriate license to operate a Class C (car) motor vehicle. 
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.

  • Salary range: $40.22 - $42.91  p.h. (casual rate) (OO2)
