The Department of Neonatology - Nurse Practitioner (NP) is an advanced practice position delivering an expert level of clinical and professional practice within their area of practice in the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service. They are an integral member of the multidisciplinary health care team who practices in collaboration with others to assess and manage patients within their clinical context using expert nursing knowledge and skills at an advanced level based on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia – Registered Nurse Standards of Practice.
The Neonatal NP is accountable for clinical practice, professional advice and delegations of care and contributes specialised clinical expertise, nursing assessment and advice to achieve integrated nursing care within a risk management and best practice framework. The Neonatal NP will take a role in ensuring targets are met in an efficient and effective manner which will include collaborating with the multidisciplinary partners to ensure patients receive the most appropriate care in the most appropriate place by the most appropriate personnel.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Adhere to defined service quality standards, health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
- Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 2, Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health Award) – State 2015 – Generic Level Statements Nurse Grade 8 and the Queensland Public Service values.
- Understand your broad responsibilities for safety and quality in healthcare, actively participate in continuous quality and safety improvement activities within the workplace and notify a relevant clinical or non-clinical responsible officer when concerns exist about workplace or patient safety.
- Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
Remuneration value up to $187 710 p.a., comprising salary between $157 579 - $164 519 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (NRG8).
