About the role

The Working Supervisor - Patient Support Services, Oral Health Centre is responsible for supervising and working alongside Patient Support Officers to ensure the delivery of high-quality support services across clinical and non-clinical areas. The role oversees a range of essential services including cleaning, porterage, stores handling and waste management, ensuring operational requirements are met in a safe, efficient and patient-focused manner.

The successful candidate will coordinate daily operations, support workforce planning and resource allocation, undertake quality audits, manage service issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. The role works closely with clinical and non-clinical teams to ensure support services are delivered in accordance with relevant policies, health and safety requirements and infection control standards.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Lead, supervise and support Patient Support Officers to deliver high-quality cleaning, porterage, stores and waste management services.
  • Coordinate resources and workforce requirements to ensure service continuity across the Oral Health Centre and broader service areas.
  • Monitor service quality through auditing, reporting and compliance activities while maintaining infection control, safety and environmental standards.
  • Build positive working relationships with staff and stakeholders while effectively managing communication, complaints and conflict resolution.
  • Contribute to staff development, training, quality improvement and continuous service enhancement initiatives.
