About the role
The Psychologist provides high-quality psychological assessment and treatment services to medical and surgical inpatients and outpatients at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital. Working within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment, the role contributes to patient-centred care by supporting the psychological wellbeing of individuals and enhancing their ongoing medical management and treatment outcomes.
The successful candidate will deliver evidence-based psychological interventions, undertake complex clinical assessments and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes. The role also contributes to clinical education, professional development, research activities and service planning initiatives within the Psychology Department.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Deliver high-level psychological assessment, consultation and evidence-based interventions for patients with complex medical and surgical care needs.
- Apply advanced clinical judgement and problem-solving skills to manage a complex caseload with a high degree of professional autonomy.
- Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to integrate psychological expertise into patient care and optimise health outcomes.
- Contribute to the development of clinical practices, procedures, education activities and administrative processes that support quality service delivery.
- Participate in and contribute to research, service planning and professional development activities that enhance psychology services and patient care.
