About us:
North Rockhampton Nursing Centre is home to more than 120 residents who can no longer live independently, providing compassionate, person-centred care across three specialised wings. From high-level residential aged care and specialist dementia support to transition and interim care, the team is dedicated to helping every resident live with dignity, purpose and the highest possible quality of life. Guided by the philosophy of "life fulfilment for residents and professional fulfilment for staff," the service fosters a collaborative, supportive environment where staff, residents, families and the community work together to deliver exceptional care with respect, connection and compassion.
About the role:
- Design, deliver and evaluate engaging lifestyle, recreational and social programs that support residents' physical, cognitive and emotional wellbeing.
- Assess individual resident needs and develop personalised lifestyle plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, including completing lifestyle assessments and social profiles.
- Facilitate safe, inclusive activities for aged care residents, including those living with dementia, while promoting independence, participation and quality of life.
- Maintain accurate resident documentation, oversee recreational equipment and resources, and contribute to continuous quality improvement and audit activities.
About you:
- While not mandatory, possession of the following Certificate IV's would be considered highly desirable; Health and Community Services (Diversional Therapy), Diversional Therapy, Community Services –Leisure and Lifestyle or Leisure and Health.
- Ability to initiate, develop and implement lifestyle programs for residents with chronic cognitive deficits.
- Knowledge of relevant aged care legislation with proven ability to work effectively as a member of the team with an ability to promote and adapt to change.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the process and strategies of continuous improvement of clinical services and demonstrated ongoing involvement in this process.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $82,215 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $34.53 - $36.34 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
