Raceview State School is seeking a leader who is passionate about inclusive education and improving outcomes for every student to join our leadership team as Head of Special Education Services.

We are looking for an experienced instructional and inclusive leader who can inspire others, build strong relationships with staff, families and external agencies, and lead sustainable whole-school improvement.

You will llead inclusion in a vibrant and improvement-focused school.

Working alongside a collaborative leadership team, you will provide strategic leadership for inclusive education, leading a large multidisciplinary team of Inclusion teachers, Teacher Aides, therapists and support staff.

You will play a key role in strengthening Tier 1 practices, leading targeted intervention and complex case management, building staff capability, and driving improved outcomes for every student.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage and coordinate the delivery of high-quality advice and support provided by the Special Education Program and/or Early Childhood Development Program.
  • Lead and manage the Special Education Program and/or Early Childhood Development Program to provide advice to classroom teachers for students with disability as needed.
  • Provide high quality advice to the school leadership team, classroom teachers and other school staff to develop, plan and implement effective reasonable adjustments for students with disability.
  • Coordinate and provide intensive targeted teaching for students requiring intervention.
  • Provide, support and/or coordinate case management for students who require extensive or substantial adjustments.
