Role details
The Research Unit at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Business Advisor (Clinical Trials and Research) to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your opportunity
As the Business Advisor (Clinical Trials and Research), you will provide high level business support to the Clinical Trials and Research team through assisting in the provision of cost-effective, business focused operational and strategic resource management advice and expertise. The role is also required to assist the unit to coordinate and manage financial, procurement and contract management processes for the unit.
Provide the effective and timely coordination of finance and business support functions enabling business continuity and success through quality assurance and improvement, in the form of valuable and ethical compliance and governance, assisting management's decision-making processes.
The Business Advisor (Clinical Trials and Research) reports to the Nursing Director, Research Support Unit and operationally supports the Clinical Trials unit and Research Support Unit. This position has one direct report, the MIRI Communication and Support Officer.
About the Team
Mackay Institute of Research and Innovation (MIRI) is an emerging health service-led translational research and innovation centre, a collaboration between MHHS and our academic partners. The core functions of the Institute are:
- Clinical trials and research support and advice
- supporting clinicians to undertake research in areas of strategic interest
- leading cutting-edge translational research and innovation
- implementing evidence-based practice into patient care
- implementing innovations that improve productivity and safety
- supporting the Tropical Australian Academic Health Centre
