The Role

An opportunity has become available for several Sonographers / Radiographer Sonographers - Senior (Medical Imaging) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 14 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

 You will

  • Perform independent real time ultrasound examinations
  • Responsible for the primary detection, evaluation and diagnosis of pathology and production of sonographer reports
  • Provide clinical practice supervision and education of staff and students
  • Monitor, report and actively contribute to the development of quality improvement processes

 About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • Sonographer:
    • Qualification in Medical Ultrasound
    • Accredited Medical Sonographer with the Australian Sonographers Accreditation Registry (ASAR)
  • Radiographer/Sonographer:
    • Tertiary degree as a Radiographer
    • AHPRA registration
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

  • Permanent full time, permanent part time, temporary full time, temporary full time and Casual positions (several positions, hours negotiable. Temporary positions, up to 18 months, with the possibility of extension)
  • Base salary ranging from $128,169 - $137,918 per annum, or $4,912.70 - $5,286.40 per fortnight, or $64.64 - $69.55 per hour (part time), or $80.80 - $86.94 per hour (casual)

About Us

We are an expanding Medical Imaging Department which provides service to numerous referring teams: Intensive Care Unit, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Emergency, Paediatrics, Obstetrics, Orthopaedics, cancer outpatients, and various other teams. The Department operates 7 days per week with shifts ranging from early morning to late evening across the district. An Ultrasound on-call service is currently offered from late evening to early morning.
