Your opportunity:

  • The Staff Specialist provides high-quality specialist orthopaedic services within the Orthopaedics Department at Bundaberg Hospital, with a primary focus on Lower Limb and Foot & Ankle surgery.
  • The role delivers expert clinical care, contributes to education, training and research, and supports the delivery of safe, effective and patient-centred services across the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service.
  • The Staff Specialist also undertakes additional duties as reasonably directed by the Professional or Operational Manager, consistent with the requirements of the role.

Permanent Full Time (80 hours p.f.) or Permanent Part Time Positions (hours negotiable)

Opportunity for Private Practice: 

The successful candidate may have the opportunity to establish private practice outside of their WBHHS appointment with local private hospitals.  The successful candidate may receive assistance and concessions with:

  • Use of the local private hospital's sessional rooms to allow establishment of practice and referral pathways
  • Assistance with credentialling and administrative support to commence private practice
  • Introduction to local GP's, physicians and surgeons to facilitate referral pathways.

We are offering a competitive remuneration package value up to $562,082 p.a., including salary between $192,257 - $281,545 p.a. (f/t) or competitive salary between $92.11 - $134.89 p.h. (p/t), generous employer superannuation (up to 12.75%), annual leave loading (17.5%), professional development allowance, motor vehicle allowance, salary sacrifice perks, and flexible rostering for optimal work/life balance.
