Senior Crown Prosecutors undertake complex and difficult criminal prosecution cases, appearing as lead counsel in superior court trials and criminal proceedings. This is an exciting opportunity for a skills criminal legal practitioner to be part of the newly formed Targeted Action Group.

The role involves a variety of legal work and offers opportunities to travel throughout Queensland on regional circuits.

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions represents the State of Queensland in criminal cases. The role of Senior Crown Prosecutor is responsible for prosecuting matters in the Supreme Court, District Court and the Children's Court of Queensland, as well as appearing on matters in the Magistrates Courts in some jurisdictions.

The successful applicant will be admitted as a legal practitioner in a State or Territory of Australia and:

- possess a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of criminal law practice
- have demonstrated ability to prepare and conduct complex and difficult court proceedings
- have a superior ability to communicate and engage with victims of crime, using a trauma informed approach
- possess strong communication and leadership skills.

Applicants should provide a resume and cover letter, including a summary of criminal case work completed during their career.
