About the role

Temporary full time opportunity to provide strategic, operational and professional leadership for a large Social Work service, delivering expert advice to executive stakeholders, advancing tertiary-level models of care, representing Allied Health in key strategic portfolios, and supporting critical incident management within the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Provide high level strategic leadership and management for the Department of Social Work at RBWH, applying expert clinical knowledge to challenge existing protocols and advocating authoritatively for social work services in the development and evaluation of innovative and integrated models of care within a tertiary/ quaternary facility.
  • Apply specialist knowledge of Social Work professional standards and evidence-based practice, and high-level interpretation of health service systems in the provision of clinical governance, leadership, consultancy, and authoritative advice at facility, health service and state levels, and to facilitate high-level decisions for the resolution of complex, critical clinical service and workflow problems.
  • Accountable for high level engagement with an extensive range of government and non-government welfare stakeholders to ensure provision of patient and consumer access to RBWH services which is equitable and person centred.
  • Provide professional leadership, representing Social Work at committees at local, HHS and state-wide level, and provide authoritative counsel to advise and inform strategic level management processes involving social work services.
