We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities to join our school community.

This is a rewarding and varied role for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in maintaining facilities and grounds, and values making a positive contribution to student learning and wellbeing.

As a key member of our support team, you will play an important role in ensuring our school grounds, gardens, buildings and equipment are maintained to a high standard. Working closely with the Principal, Business Manager and school staff, you will help create a safe, functional and attractive environment for students, staff and visitors.

About the Role:

  • As the Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities you will contribute to the efficient and effective operation and environment of the school by providing a high level of grounds and facilities to the Principal, Business Manager or nominated delegate.
  • You will perform a range of activities to ensure that the school is maintained to a high standard; follow set instructions; and have independence to perform a variety of day-to-day services that are routine in nature. However, the role receives regular supervision when undertaking duties that are non-routine in nature.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain school buildings, grounds, sporting facilities and equipment to ensure a safe, clean and well-presented environment.
  • Coordinate minor repairs, preventative maintenance and liaise with contractors and suppliers.
  • Undertake grounds maintenance, including mowing, gardening, landscaping and waste management.
  • Support school operations through mail delivery, stock control, event setup, security and general operational duties.
  • Monitor workplace health and safety, maintain equipment and facilities, and report maintenance or safety issues.
  • Assist with school security, including locking and unlocking buildings and maintaining security systems.
  • Provide operational support for school events and undertake other duties as directed, consistent with the role.

Progressional roles show a salary range spanning two classifications. Appointment will be made at the level appropriate to skill and fulfilment of required criteria
