About us:

This 305-bed hospital is the beating heart of healthcare in Central Queensland, serving as the region's main referral centre. It is now home to a brand-new, purpose-built cancer care facility, bringing integrated cancer services together under one roof with state-of-the-art medical technology. Patients from across the region, including Gladstone, Emerald, Yeppoon, Biloela, and numerous smaller rural communities, are referred to Rockhampton for specialist treatment, advanced investigations, and expert care, making it a vital healthcare hub for Central Queensland.

About the role:

  • Be the welcoming face of the Emergency Department, assisting patients, families, visitors, ambulance officers, and police.
  • Manage reception and phone enquiries, ensuring messages and information are passed on quickly and accurately.
  • Support doctors and nurses with a variety of administrative tasks to help keep the department running smoothly.
  • Interview patients, verify their details, and complete admission and Patient Election Form (PEF) paperwork.
  • Play an important role in delivering a positive patient experience from arrival through to treatment.

About you:

  • Proactive problem-solver who can think on your feet and confidently handle unexpected situations.
  • Comfortable using a range of computer systems and enjoy learning new technology.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced team environment and love working alongside a diverse group of healthcare professionals.
  • Understand the importance of privacy and confidentiality and always handle sensitive information with care.
  • Organised, adaptable, and passionate about providing exceptional support to patients, families, and your team.

What we offer:

Total monthly remuneration value of up to $4,411 p.m. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $39.98 - $44.46 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
