A permanent opportunity is available to join the Community Operations Directorate as a Senior Adviser. The Community Operations team provides strategic oversight, governance and support to regions in the delivery of community corrections and custodial services in Queensland.
The group is also responsible for developing and monitoring performance standards for the delivery of community corrections and custodial services throughout Queensland through key functional areas of operational practice and governance compliance and risk.

The Senior Adviser, Community Operations provides advice and assistance on operational activities and strategic directions for Community Corrections. The role represents Community Corrections and provides advice, support and training to staff on evidence-based best practice, in line with established frameworks for offender management.
In this role you will:
• Demonstrate a high level of understanding of contemporary offender management issues, trends and practices including the management of warrants and orders, assessment, risk analysis and planning.
• Assist in the preparation of reports, submissions, briefing notes, presentations, publications and correspondence
• Monitor the quality of offender management and operational activities, identify relevant trends and issues, and develop strategies to improve the quality and consistency of Community Corrections operations.
• Collaborate with other business areas within QCS in order to achieve strategic outcomes
