Your new role:
As the Assistant Director of Nursing, you'll provide strategic and operational nursing leadership for DonateLife Queensland, leading the delivery of safe, high-quality organ and tissue donation services across Queensland. Working collaboratively with senior leaders, clinical teams and national stakeholders, you'll champion clinical excellence, innovation and governance while helping maximise opportunities for life-saving and life-transforming organ and tissue donation. In this role you will:
- Lead clinical, operational and professional nursing services, driving excellence in governance, workforce capability, service delivery and quality improvement.
- Partner with healthcare leaders, government agencies and multidisciplinary stakeholders to advance statewide organ and tissue donation outcomes.
- Foster innovation through strategic planning, evidence-based practice, data-driven decision making and the development of contemporary models of care.
About you:
You're an experienced and inspiring nursing leader who is passionate about improving patient outcomes and developing high-performing teams. You thrive in complex healthcare environments, confidently balancing strategic leadership with operational excellence while building trusted relationships across diverse stakeholder groups. Your collaborative approach, sound judgement and commitment to innovation enable you to influence meaningful change across health services. You will bring:
- Extensive senior nursing leadership experience with demonstrated expertise in clinical governance, workforce leadership, financial management and service improvement.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate and lead change across multidisciplinary environments.
- Advanced knowledge of contemporary nursing practice, quality improvement and strategic service delivery. Experience in critical care and organ and tissue donation will be highly regarded.

The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is a tertiary health care centre providing care in most major adult specialties. We provide world class health care to Brisbane City's southern suburbs across emergency, medical, mental health and surgical services, including liver and kidney transplant.
We are nationally recognised for our expertise in trauma management and organ transplants and are one of Australia's leading academic and research health centres. The PAH as a major medical research precinct hosts Australia's most advanced medical research facility, the Translational Research Institute (TRI) as well as a new Clinical Research Facility for the discoveries made at TRI to be trialed in a safe clinical environment.
We're expanding our hospital to make sure everyone gets the care they need. We're adding more beds, modernising our buildings, and improving our spaces to treat kidney and cancer patients with all new services and facilities planned to open by 2027.
