As the Operations Manager, you will provide strategic leadership and oversight of a significant roads and civil infrastructure program, ensuring the effective delivery of projects, operational excellence, and sustainable business outcomes.
Key Accountabilities;
• Lead the delivery of major road and civil infrastructure programs, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with customer, business, and Transport and Main Roads objectives.
• Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight, driving business performance, resource management, continuous improvement, and alignment with RoadTek's strategic goals.
• Develop and empower high-performing teams through workforce planning, recruitment, mentoring, performance management, and professional development initiatives.
• Foster a strong safety and performance culture, championing workplace safety, environmental stewardship, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the Operations Unit.
• Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships, representing RoadTek, influencing strategic planning, and working closely with customers, partners, suppliers, and leadership teams to achieve successful business outcomes.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions;
• Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
• TMR has a Drug and Alcohol Policy which applies to all Employees, Workers and Visitors to TMR workplaces. This may include random, post incident and reasonable suspicion testing during employment to ensure a safe and healthy workplace.
• Applicants must possess a current, valid Queensland "C" class driver's licence or equivalent.
• A reasonable amount of travel consistent with industry standards will be required throughout the operational unit and/or the State. You will be entitled to expenses and allowances for such travel.
Requirements of the role;
• Utilises program management and project management principles including resource allocation and budgetary control to manage risks for the business.
• Builds and sustains relationships to enable the collaborative delivery of customerfocused outcomes. Strengthens partnerships by providing proactive advice and supports others to share relevant information in a tactful and articulate manner.
Proactively steers team collaborations across boundaries to achieve joint delivery of program outcomes.
• Recognises the unique talents and aspirations of the workforce and enhances capability through targeted development activities. Facilitates opportunities for learning and stretch assignments across programs to build unit capability and agility in the organisation. Enhances program capacity by coaching others, encouraging critical reflection and discovery of self-led solutions.
• Demonstrates accountability for the execution and quality of results through professionalism, persistence, and transparency. Role models persistence through program setbacks, drives ownership and empowers others to independently manage and report on their project/program responsibilities. Uses feedback mechanisms to stay in touch with program progress and directs energy and time towards matters of priority.
• Maintains a high standard of practice through governance and risk management and ensures legislative and regulatory frameworks are applied effectively.
