Principal Project Manager Laboratory Infrastructure

Join Pathology Queensland and play a key role in shaping the future of pathology services across the state. This 24-month fixed-term opportunity has been established to deliver a major program of laboratory infrastructure projects, supporting the design, delivery, commissioning and operational transition of modern laboratory facilities. We're looking for an experienced project professional who can hit the ground running. You'll bring proven experience delivering health, pathology or laboratory infrastructure projects, with expertise in commissioning, operational readiness, transition planning and the integration of specialist laboratory equipment.

Key competencies (role specific criteria)

You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:

  • Proven experience and knowledge to design and co-ordinate small, medium and large scale projects or work packages across multiple strategic sites, including the management of risk and the planning, scheduling and tracking of activities and deliverables within a laboratory environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to use high level communication, interpersonal, consultation, partnership, and negotiation skills to overcome issues, influence the decisions, action or perceptions of stakeholders and achieve project outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience managing infrastructure change whilst ensuring service continuity.
  • Understanding of Queensland Government Project delivery frameworks and procurement processes
  • Proven effective consultation, facilitation, written and oral communication skills for use in a complex project program/ project environment.
  • Proven ability to quickly establish positive working relationships with cross functional teams, laboratory vendors and project contractors.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage one or more defined communication channels and/or stakeholder groups and facilitate the business change decision making process and the planning and implementation of change.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgement in managing, complex time critical projects, balancing competing delivery priorities, operational constraints and stakeholder expectations.
  • Experience in the compilation of program/ project information, maintenance of program/ project files and the preparation and presentation of reports in a capital works program context.
