What your day could look like
As an Operational Services Officer (Catering), you'll play an important role in supporting patient care by helping deliver safe, nutritious and enjoyable meal services. From preparing and distributing meals to working closely with colleagues across the health service, you'll contribute to a positive experience for patients, visitors and staff.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
- Supporting patient wellbeing through the timely preparation and delivery of quality meal services
- Creating positive experiences through friendly, respectful interactions with patients, visitors and colleagues
- Maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness and infection control across catering environments
- Working collaboratively with the broader team to ensure reliable and efficient service delivery
Let's talk about you!
You're someone who takes pride in helping others and understands that even small actions can make a big difference to a person's day. You bring a positive attitude, enjoy working in a team and are committed to delivering excellent service in a caring environment. Whether you're assisting with meal preparation, supporting patients or helping maintain safe and hygienic work areas, you'll find satisfaction in knowing your contribution supports the health and wellbeing of the community.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
- A strong commitment to customer service and patient-focused care
- The ability to work effectively in a team while managing responsibilities independently
- An understanding of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety practices
- Reliable communication skills and a willingness to contribute to a positive workplace culture
You'll stand out from the crowd if you have previous experience in catering, hospitality, healthcare or customer service environments and/or hold relevant food safety training.
Above all, you'll bring the values we live by at Darling Downs Health: Compassion, Integrity, Dignity, Innovation and Courage.
Your work will help create a welcoming and supportive environment where quality care extends beyond the bedside.
