We are seeking outstanding and innovative Head of Department (Curriculum) to join leadership team. This pivotal role provided strategic leadership and curriculum design, implementation, and improvement to ensure high-quality teaching and learning outcomes for every student. This is a temporary full-time position until 04 December 2026, unless otherwise determined.

About the Role:

The Head of Department (Curriculum) works collaboratively with the Head of Department (Senior Schooling) and the school leadership team to ensure high-quality teaching and learning across Cloncurry State School P-12. With a primary focus on the P-6 sector, the role provides instructional leadership to support curriculum implementation, pedagogical practice, assessment and moderation, and data-informed improvement. Working within a rural and remote P-12 context, the role partners with staff, students and families to foster inclusive learning environments, strengthen student achievement and wellbeing, and ensure every student is supported to reach their full potential.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Promote a clear educational vision that delivers high-quality learning outcomes and high expectations for every student.
• Foster an inclusive, socially just school culture through equitable practices and strong partnerships with students, families, community organisations, and government agencies.
• Lead excellence in teaching and learning by modelling lifelong learning, supporting staff professional growth, and maintaining high standards of performance.
• Provide strategic and future-focused leadership by planning for continuous improvement and responding effectively to emerging educational priorities.
• Manage school resources and governance effectively by overseeing human, financial, curriculum, and facility resources while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and departmental requirements.
