Bundaberg Central State School is seeking a dynamic and committed Principal to lead our school and continue driving excellence in teaching, learning and student wellbeing. This is a temporary full-time position commencing 06 October 2026 until 11 December 2026, unless otherwise determined.

About Us:

Located in the heart of Bundaberg, Queensland, Bundaberg Central State School is a welcoming and inclusive school with approximately 89 students. Our small-school setting provides a unique opportunity for strong relationships with students, staff, families and the broader community, enabling personalised learning and support for every child. Bundaberg Central State School, established in 1875, is in the heart of Bundaberg City.  It is set within an environment of shady trees and a big beautiful oval for outdoor play and sports.  We are a proud school with a wealth of local history and quality learning.

About the Role:

Responsibilities include, but not limited to;

  • Provide strategic leadership to develop and promote a shared vision that delivers high-quality learning outcomes and fosters an inclusive, future-focused school culture.
  • Lead with integrity, modelling ethical, values-based decision-making while embedding equitable and socially just practices across all aspects of school life.
  • Drive excellence by setting high expectations for student achievement and staff performance, while promoting continuous professional learning and development.
  • Build and strengthen collaborative partnerships with families, government agencies, community organisations, industry, and business to enhance educational opportunities and student success.
  • Effectively manage school resources and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and departmental policies to achieve strategic priorities and sustainable school improvement.
