The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is seeking a Principal Information Governance and Handover Advisor to lead complex information governance and handover activities across records, systems, data, assurance evidence and governance controls. This role will translate approved strategies, contractual obligations and project deed requirements into practical delivery actions, project controls and clear advice for senior leaders, project teams and external stakeholders.

The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is delivering the Cross River Rail project, including a new 10.2km rail line with twin tunnels under the Brisbane River and CBD and four new underground stations at Boggo Road, Woolloongabba, Albert Street and Roma Street.

The project will increase rail network capacity across South East Queensland and includes supporting works delivered with the Department of Transport and Main Roads, including station upgrades, new Gold Coast stations, stabling enhancements, rail infrastructure works and a new ETCS digital signalling system.

 

About the Role

The Principal Information Governance and Handover Advisor leads a portfolio of information governance projects across the Delivery Authority.

The role coordinates information governance handover across records, systems, data and assurance evidence to support transition, closeout and futurestate obligations. Working across complex project and operational environments, the position ensures governance requirements are embedded in delivery activities and aligned with legislative, contractual and organisational requirements.

A key focus is interpreting project deeds, contractual and governance obligations and translating them into clear delivery actions and practical outcomes. The role provides governance leadership and expert advice to support decision making, compliance and successful handover outcomes. This opportunity is offered as a fixed term contract until 30 September 2028 with possible extension.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead complex information governance projects, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and handover requirements.
  • Manage project planning, schedules, budgets, risks, dependencies, benefits realisation and performance reporting.
  • Provide expert advice on information governance, recordkeeping, compliance and data management.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, standards and retention requirements, including the PRA 2023 (Qld), IPA 2009 (Qld) and QLD State Archives requirements.
  • Lead governance, business change, systems analysis, data mapping, recordkeeping, retention and migration activities.
  • Develop stakeholder engagement strategies and maintain relationships with executives, project teams, vendors and government agencies.
  • Facilitate workshops and working groups to align priorities and achieve outcomes.
  • Oversee records lifecycle management, including retention, disposal and compliance assurance.
  • Ensure governance practices are integrated across Content Manager/TRIM and Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Translate project deeds, contract schedules, handover obligations and assurance requirements into practical actions and controls.

About You:

The successful candidate will have:

  • Strong knowledge of information governance, records management, privacy, data management and assurance frameworks.
  • Experience leading complex projects and delivering information handover, transition, assurance or close-out activities in major project, infrastructure or government environments.
  • Knowledge of information remediation, migration, retention, disposal and decommissioning activities.
  • Ability to interpret contractual, governance and assurance requirements.
  • Strong capability in project planning, risk management, governance controls and performance monitoring.
  • Experience engaging, influencing and consulting with senior stakeholders, delivery partners, vendors and government agencies.
  • Strong facilitation, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Experience with EDRMS, Content Manager/TRIM and Microsoft 365 governance environments.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Management, Project Management, Business Analysis or a related discipline.
  • Project or program management certification is desirable
