About the Role:

  • Provide and coordinate workplace health and safety services.
  • Perform the role of Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator, communicating effectively with, and enlisting the support of doctors, allied health professionals, line managers, injured employees and others.

The Workplace Health and Safety Advisor reports to the relevant Principal, nominated school.

Based at Beaconsfield State School, you will work at the following schools in the Region:-

  • Beaconsfield State School - 0.35FTE
  • Mackay West State School - 0.35FTE
  • Dundula State School - 0.05FTE
  • Seaforth State School - 0.05FTE
  • Nebo State School - 0.10FTE
  • Mackay North State School - 0.10FTE

Responsibilities: 

  • Advise leadership on workplace health and safety.
  • Conduct risk assessments, inspections and audits.
  • Deliver workplace health and safety training.
  • Coordinate the Workplace Health and Safety Committee.
  • Develop and maintain WHS policies and procedures.
  • Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor compliance with WHS legislation and standards.
  • Coordinate rehabilitation and return to work programs.
  • Prepare WHS reports and support school reviews.
  • Promote a positive safety and wellbeing culture.
