About the role

Temporary part time position to provide professional and operational management, clinical practice supervision and strategic leadership for a team of Dietitians and Allied Health Assistants (Dietetics). The position delivers advanced level nutrition and dietetic services to stakeholders/customers at the Surgical, Treatment and Rehabilitation Services (STARS), to achieve excellence in patient care, education and research. Reporting directly to the Manager of Dietetics and Food Services, this position also contributes to service development, education, research and overall operational management of the department.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Independently deliver advanced Nutrition & Dietetic clinical and consultancy services across a broad range of clinical areas in accordance with accepted professional practices, standards and principles.
  • Provide high level advice to professional and operational supervisors, relevant service managers and other relevant stakeholders on: leading service quality and improvement activities, clinical service development and delivery, and contributing to formal research.
  • Operationally and professionally manage and coordinate a medium-sized team of Dietitians including responsibility for -
    o HR activities such as managing recruitment, orientation, and performance appraisal and development of staff
    o Supplying strategic direction in accordance with Metro North HHS planning and state-wide priorities
    o Fostering a team environment to ensure achievement of departmental objectives
    o Actively contributing to Nutrition & Dietetic workforce planning and resource management to meet service requirements.
