We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and collaborative Guidance Officer to join our dedicated student support team. Working closely with school leaders, teacher, families, and external agencies, you will contribute to a whole-school approach to student wellbeing, inclusion, and engagement by coordinating interventions, supporting student protection and case management processes, and promoting positive educational outcomes for all learners. This is a temporary full-time position until 25 June 2027, unless otherwise determined.

About the Role:

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Deliver comprehensive student support services by providing counselling, psychoeducational assessment, and evidence-based recommendations to address students' educational, behavioural, social, emotional, mental health, and career development needs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance student outcomes by working within multidisciplinary teams and partnering with families, school staff, and external agencies to coordinate case management, referrals, and access to appropriate educational and support services.
  • Lead student wellbeing, inclusion, and intervention initiatives by supporting student protection, behaviour support, gifted education, risk management, transition planning, and the development of individualised support plans that promote engagement and success.
  • Maintain professional, ethical, and legislative standards by balancing confidentiality and information sharing, ensuring accurate record keeping, and complying with relevant legal, policy, and departmental requirements.
  • Build capability and provide specialist leadership by delivering professional learning for school communities, supporting critical incident responses, and providing specialised guidance for students with complex behavioural, educational, and transition needs.
