Cross River Rail Delivery Authority (CRRDA)…Your chance to work with the best!
The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is building a new 10.2km rail line that includes 5.9km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and CBD; with four new underground stations at Boggo Road, Woolloongabba, Albert Street and Roma Street.
Once complete, it will provide trains with a much-needed alternative rail path through the core of the current SEQ Rail network, unlocking a bottleneck and allowing more trains to run more often across the whole of South East Queensland.
The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is also delivering multiple supporting projects and activities in conjunction with the Department of Transport and Main Roads. These include accessibility rebuilds for eight surface stations, construction of three new stations on the Gold Coast; upgrades for stabling yards; track works and surface rail enhancements; and the introduction of a new ETCS digital signalling system.
About the Role
As a Community Information Officer, you will engage with visitors, stakeholders and the community at the Future Rail Experience Centre and community events across South East Queensland. The Future Rail Experience Centre is an interactive destination showcasing the Cross River Rail Project and the future of rail transport in Queensland. This hands-on, customer-focused role involves delivering tours, presentations, educational programs, community activities and events while supporting the day to day operations of the Centre and creating memorable visitor experiences. The role may involve occasional weekend work and travel across South East Queensland.
Hours and Availability
This is an ongoing casual role based at the Brisbane CBD Future Rail Experience Centre.
- Typical hours are 8-10 per week, increasing to up to 20 hours during busy periods, including school visits, tours and events.
- Availability on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays is essential, with at least one day required and two preferred.
- Additional opportunities on Mondays and Fridays are expected over time.
- Flexibility to work occasional weekends and additional hours during peak visitor periods will be highly regarded.
About You:
We're looking for enthusiastic and personable people who enjoy engaging with customers and creating memorable customer experiences.
- Experience in customer service, visitor services, hospitality, tourism, retail, events or community engagement.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, with confidence engaging individuals and groups.
- A positive, approachable and professional manner, with strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently and contribute positively to a collaborative team environment.
- Flexibility to support occasional weekend work and community events, with a strong commitment to workplace safety and customer service excellence.
Mandatory Requirements
- Hold, or be able to obtain and maintain, a valid Blue Card (Working with Children Check) and First Aid Qualification
- Hold a current Open or P2 Driver Licence with reliable transport
Highly Regarded
- Experience delivering tours, presentations, educational programs, community engagement activities or public events.
- Experience in visitor attractions, museums, tourism or other customer-facing environments, with an interest in infrastructure, transport, communications, education or community engagement.
