About the Team

The Strategy and Transformation Division is a dynamic support function that leads critical strategic and transformation initiatives across the HHS and broader statewide paediatric network. We are a team that encourages creativity, critical thinking and a growth mindset and apply evidence-based methodologies. As a team we:

  • Use our diverse experience and skills to bring clarity to complexity and help describe and mature CHQ's approach to delivering value in a complex system.
  • Provide trusted, objective, evidence-informed advice on complicated challenges and how to deliver sustainable and locally owned transformation and change.
  • Use our relational strengths, understanding of frameworks and methodologies, and practical experience to enable high priority change and transformation work across CHQ.
  • Contribute to a talent pipeline of effective leaders through a commitment to inclusive team immersion, coaching, capability building and skills development in others.

About the Role

Integrated Strategic Planning

  • Develop, advise, implement, monitor and review a range of strategic, operational, service, workforce and capital planning, in accordance with the Integrated Planning Framework.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge and understanding of current and emerging CHQ and broader paediatric healthcare issues, plans and policies, as well as State and Federal Government systems and structures.
  • Apply portfolio management methodology and tools into integrated strategic planning processes.

Health Service Planning

  • Develop statewide/system/local service needs analysis, statewide plans, and other planning products, to inform future service, policy, governance, planning and purchasing/commissioning decisions.
  • Undertake health service/system research and critical analysis of qualitative and quantitative data and information to identify future prioritie and issues for Children's Health Queensland, to inform the efficient use of resources to create a sustainable health system, influence health service delivery and reform, and maximise the health gain.
  • Understand and apply contemporary health service planning methodologies, including those related to activity, capacity and resource analysis and forecasting.
  • Use endorsed planning frameworks, methodologies and tools to prepare timely and robust advice on health service planning issues to inform decision-making and the work of statewide/system committees.
  • Describe existing services and related networks (private, public, non-government) across the health continuum and identify implications of changes in clinical practice, models of care and technologies.
