We are seeking a passionate, collaborative, and strategic educational leader to join our leadership team as Head of Special Education Services (HOSES). This is an outstanding opportunity for an inclusive educational professional to lead the delivery of high-quality support services for students with disability and diverse leaning needs. The successful candidate will provide expert leadership in inclusive practices, targeted intervention, case management, and curriculum adjustments while building the capacity of teachers and support staff to achieve positive student outcomes. This is a temporary full-time position until 11 December 2026, unless otherwise determined.

About the Role:

Responsibilities include, but not limited to;

  • Lead and coordinate inclusive education programs by overseeing the delivery of high-quality specialist advice, support, and services through the Special Education Program (SEP) and/or Early Childhood Development Program (ECDP) to improve outcomes for students with disability.
  • Build staff capability and inclusive practice by providing expert guidance, coaching, and professional learning to school leaders, teachers, and support staff in planning, implementing, and evaluating reasonable adjustments and evidence-based teaching strategies.
  • Drive student achievement through targeted intervention by coordinating intensive teaching, case management, and access to specialist services for students requiring significant educational adjustments and personalised support.
  • Strengthen systems, partnerships, and compliance by implementing effective school-wide processes for disability data collection, monitoring student progress, managing Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) requirements, and fostering collaborative partnerships with families, external agencies, and community organisations.
  • Contribute to strategic school leadership by participating in school planning and decision-making while effectively managing human, financial, curriculum, and physical resources to achieve school priorities and continuous improvement goals.
